What is Searching for Soul?

Have you ever been led to do something that was completely off of your radar before? When I say I was led to start this blog, I mean that I had completely gone off the idea of blogging although I've started a few in the past. The last thing I wanted to do was put myself out there again. Nothing bad happened with my last blogs, but the experience of writing stopped giving me the same satisfaction as before. I was okay not writing for the public because I still kept my personal journal which got me through some recent rough times. I'm also working on a few writing projects which I hope one day will be released for the public as well. So my itch to write which has been with me my entire life was well-scratched.

But yesterday I felt a familiar nudge that inspired me to write for public consumption again. So, here I am. Searching for Soul is a reflection of my life as a spiritualist who is trying to find ways to use my gifts to help others. Although I was raised a Roman Catholic, I always felt that there were so many ways that this organized religion thing wasn't for me. There were too many contradictions in their teachings (God loves everyone but you need to be a Christian to get into heaven?). I feel all organized religion has their own problems, but it was getting harder and harder to consider myself a practicing Catholic when homosexuality was still considered a sin while at the same time thousands of priests have been revealed as pedophiles.  I could not understand why divorce was considered a sin when so many people I know have made such better partnerships, full of love and respect, the second (or third, fourth) time around. I also felt that there had to be a more direct line to God, one that bypasses the involvement from anyone else. My interest in spiritualism has grown throughout the years culminating in my desire to start a business based on helping others connect with their own direct line to Spirit, God, the Universe, or whatever else one wants to call it.

I hear some of you saying, "Wait. You want to make money off of connecting others to Spirit? Isn't that what organized religions do? And how dare you make money off of your spiritualism?"(Okay, maybe that was my Ego judging me as usual). My goal is to convince people that they can do what I do for themselves. What I do is use tarot and oracle cards to get messages from Spirit. My end goal for my clients is that they stop NEEDING me to answer questions because they will be able to receive their messages from their spirit guides. I still consult other people when my own problems cloud my readings for myself, but the voice I value the most is the one from my intuition. I want to help people build that same self-trust and self-respect gained from forging their own relationship to God.

There are so many topics related to my spiritualism that I could write about. There may be some entries that totally go against your beliefs while I hope some may give you pause to consider another viewpoint. Most of all I hope this blog will help others who may be struggling with similar issues. I also can envision writing about the many miracles that have occurred in my life since discovering my personal relationship with Spirit. As for the G- word...yes, I believe in God and Jesus. I'm choosing to focus more on the Spirit part of the holy trinity. However, I may use words like universe or spirit guides to refer to elements of the Divine Being that created us all. If those words offend you, this may not be the blog for you. Opening my mind to the many paths to union with God has done nothing but brought me great peace. I hope I can spread some of that feeling to the readers of my blog.
